_Ottimizzazione del terreno.

I am making the terrain in Rhino because I need a surface to create a net Voronoi on the area of project and to throw it in Ecotect to make some diagrams of the climate in Thailand.

After having spent one afternoon to now model in Rhino I have a light mesh that I can maneuver in the various softwares. The terraces solution (curves of level it extruded) it was too much heavy to work us.

I have followed the tutorial of Philix done time ago on Treddi.com, always on this discussion they have opened some ideas on as to automatize by script. Es. to realize the mesh of the ground from a pointcloud.

For now I have tried to export the cloud of points as file txt and to bring it on excel, in this way, once incolonante the cordinates x, y and z of the points it is had a greater control, it doesn't stay whether to open it in rhino and possession a cloud of points corrected. It will be a lot of profit when I will have the climatic data transposed in excel and then thrown on rhino to create checked surfaces and diagrams. There is a plugins... it calls PointCloud 1.0.

Sto facendo il terreno in Rhino perchè ho bisogno di una superficie per creare un Voronoi a rete sull'area di progetto e per buttarlo in Ecotect per fare qualche diagramma sul clima Thailandese.
Questo è come si presentava il progetto allo stato di concorso.

Dopo aver passato un pomeriggio a modellare in Rhino ora ho un terrreno leggerissimo che posso manovrare nei vari software. La soluzione a gradoni ( curve di livello estruse) era troppo pesante per lavorarci.

Ho seguito il tutorial di Philix fatto tempo fà su Treddi.com, sempre su questa discussione si sono aperte delle idee su come automatizzare il tutto tramite script. Es. realizzare la mesh del terreno da un pointcloud.

Per ora ho provato ad esportare la nuvola di punti come file txt e portarlo su excel, in questo modo, una volta incolonnate le coordinate x, y e z dei punti si ha un maggior controllo, non resta che aprirlo in rhino ed avere una nuvola di punti corretta. Sarà molto utile quando avrò i dati climatici trasposti in excel e poi buttati su rhino per creare superfici controllate e realtivi diagrammi. Cè un plugin infatti che fa tutto ciò...si chiama PointCloud 1.0.

TMD_Voronoi Test03

The research on the Voronoi has not only gone on to my thesis but also online. The test consist in the application of the algorithm of Voronoi on a surface, what will be the wrap of the museum that I am about to plan. The algorithm creates the edge of boundary that have to the center a checkpoint, therefore through
a point cloud the Rhinoscript of the algorithm can be used.
In rhino v4 there is a new plug that creates very carefully tesselation of Voronoi on surface and in simpler way.

Eravamo rimasti qui.
La ricerca sul Voronoi è andata avanti non solo nella mia tesi ma anche in rete. Il test consiste nell'applicazione dell'algoritmo di Voronoi su una superficie, quello che sarà l'involucro del museo che sto per progettare. L'algoritmo crea i confini di zone che hanno al centro un punto di controllo, quindi attraverso un point cloud si può utilizzare il Rhinoscript dell'algoritmo.
In rhino v4 ho testato un nuovo plug che crea una tessellazione di Voronoi su superficie molto più accurata e in modo più semplice.

Io ho provato Senduit e l'ho trovato semplicissimo e veloce. Non cè bisogno di registrazione, i file da uplodare hanno un limite di 100mb e possono rimanere nell'etere fino ad 1 settimana. Con un click hai uplodato il file e il servizio rilascia un indirizzo Url così lo invi al docente che nn si aggiorna ;)

Da provare anke box.net che sembra essere molto + potente ( ma che richiede registrazione e se uno ha i secondi contati...).

TMD_Folding Paper Test01

There are many mathematical and recreational problems related to folding. Origami, the Japanese art of paper folding, is one well-known example.

It is possible to make a surprising variety of shapes by folding a piece of paper multiple times, making one complete straight cut, the unfolding.

Massi has remembered me this video, done before Christmas when I was approaching to the theories of the folds of paper. For now the research is momentarily stopped, but it will take back when I will plan the stands in my thesis.

The folding is very important in the architectural research, the decostructivist architects has been the precursors of these theories.

I thank to Sandro for the suggestions give me on Messenger on the final phase of this test and Andrea for his reference: Prouvè when it was teacher left a hour of time to the students to fold up a simple sheet a4 that had to sustain an object of a certain weight. With the technique of the folds, the sheet from bidimensional it had to be nerved to turn into structure and can sustain the object. This was the exam with Prouvè.

Massi mi ha ricordato questo video, fatto prima di Natale quando mi stavo avvicinando alle teorie delle pieghe della carta. Per ora la ricerca si è momentaneamente fermata, ma riprenderà quando progetterò i padiglioni nella mia tesi.

Il folding è molto importante nella ricerca architettonica, gli architetti decostruttivisti sono stati i precursori di queste teorie.

Ringrazio Sandro per i consigli via Messenger sulla fase finale di questo test e Andrea per il suo riferimento: Prouvè quando era docente lasciava agli studenti un'ora di tempo per piegare un semplice foglio a4 che doveva sostenere un oggetto di un certo peso. Con la tecnica delle pieghe, il foglio da bidimensionale doveva essere nervato per trasformarsi in struttura e potr sostenere l'oggetto. Questo era l'esame da sostnere con Prouvè.

Simpson intro_the best of

Sul tubo ho trovato questo video che raccoglie alcune delle intro della serie dei Simpson. L'intro, cioè la scena in cui la famiglia si riunisce sul divano per guardare la Tv, cambia ogni puntata. Molto bella quella in cui L'universo intero è nella testa di Homer.
